How Karma Points Forum Works
The word Karma has origins in ancient India. It is a key concept in most religions and spiritual practices. Karma which means action, work or deed; it also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual influence the future of that individual.
Your actions in the world do not create good or bad karma. Your actions only add to your perception that you are either a physical being or a spiritual being — you are in the world and of the world, or you are in the world but not of the world.
Your perception of this reality either gives meaning to samsara or nirvana. Samsara represents the illusion that the world outside of you is real. Nirvana symbolizes your connection to a higher infinite consciousness and the purest form of your spiritual self.
Karma has become a modernized term, well-established in many languages. Karma Points Forum has been created to reflect a modern understanding of personal cause and effect. Most of us move through the world making simple decision about our actions.
We may be faced with a simple decision to open a door or not for an elderly person, throw a piece of garbage on the ground or in a bin, or to exaggerate about a deed we did or did not do.
We also may be faced with larger decisions to stay in a job that we know is wrong for us or to leave the job; stay with a partner who is abusive or leave; or stay in our comfort zone or to take a leap of faith that everything will be alright.
Karma Points Forum is a collaborative endeavor where each week participants will decide on the amount of positive Karma Points (+1 to 100) or negative Karma Points (-1 to 100) a particular action should merit.
Karma Points Forum will receive by email suggestions of actions or deeds from participants who have subscribed to this social networking website. Karma Points Forum will email to the participants each week three actions for their decision on how many Karma Points should be applied to each deed — either negative or positive Karma Points.
Karma Points Forum will then average points received from participants and post the final results to the website. The larger and more diverse the participants in Karma Points Forum, the better reflection of the world’s collective mind.
